Scott Plasma 5 Team Issue Frameset
Become One with the bike...
The Scott Plasma 5 is designed to provide an aerodynamic fusion between rider and bike.
Featuring an aerodynamic frame design that takes into consideration the interaction between a moving rider and the bike, an ergonomically and purposeful cockpit that offers a wide range of adjustability or the practical implementation of fuel storage.
Designed to be faster with the rider than without. The rider is a major influence on the airflow around the bike and ultimately dictates aerodynamic performance. 85% of the rider's energy being expelled is to work against itself. This factor was under very close observation during the development process of ultimately constructing the Plasma 5. The position of the rider on the bike really determines riding performance. Rider position directly influences the force distribution during the pedal stroke and consequently determines pedalling efficiency while the position of the rider’s upper body directly affects aerodynamic drag. An aerodynamically positioned torso will lower drag therefore improve aerodynamic performance. Therefore, Saddle and handlebar adjustability were well thought out during the developmental phase. Considering that this bike would be ridden by riders of all shapes and sizes, from World Tour riders to long-distance triathletes, the Plasma 5 required a wide range of adjustability to follow suit.
Simply put, The Plasma 5 will give you the upper hand over the competition.
