If only our feet were meant to pedal a bike. Due
to the intricate and compliant nature of our feet, it is less than ideal to
transmit power through the pedals and into the bike. Our feet were designed to
shock absorb while walking or running. In cycling our feet do not require the
natural roll on from heel to toe or the ability to dampen. Ideally the foot
should be held parallel to the pedal during the pedalling phase. Even though our
feet are all so different, one thing remains true. During cycling the foot is
most efficient when it is in the subtalar neutral position, as it provides the
most stable and comfortable position. Solestar insoles provide the optimal
support to encourage the ideal position for the foot while pedalling, and are available
in off the shelf or custom options.
Each rider is unique in their own way, and need to be supported in a particular fashion. Having a depth of options when it comes to components and equipment help to provide the best fit possible. We have a broad selection of saddles, handlebars, aerobars stems, seat posts, etc..
Orchestrating the optimal fit doesn’t come from the tools alone. Having a vast understanding for bike fit, and experience is the foundation for providing that perfect position on the bike.
